16. Self Love Programme continues

Voilier en Pleine Mer

I’ve had another lovely day today of connecting with an old friend, and we are effortlessly having a real heart conversation, talking about our similar childhoods, and she’s really opening up to me, for the first time. I never really thought she (or many of my friends) were on the same wavelength as me. No wonder! I wasn’t even on the same wavelength as myself! It seems there are like-minded people all around me. Wow!

In the meantime, I’m continuing to nurture myself with my SLP (self-love program). Here are some examples:

I have an urge to seek support by looking for a meditation group to join – I feel a need to hang out with like-minded people, people who are operating on this soul level. There’s always that counter-force urging me to contract back and stay in the “everyday world”. The meditation group I’ve been told about doesn’t suit my schedule just at the moment, but I’m sure something will come up.

I book another massage using that voucher I received for my birthday last year. What a beautiful treat—the gift that keeps on giving! At the end of it, they had to scrape me off the table and pour me into the car.

My SLP also involves going to the see those movies I really wanted to see – often by myself! I’ve recently discovered the joy of lone movie viewing. I no longer see it as some social ineptitude but, as a friend says, ‘taking myself on a date.’

A real time note, September 10:  Just yesterday I was talking to a friend who told me about a self nurturing day he had recently. It involved simple things like buying a takeaway coffee from his favourite café, driving down to a beautiful spot overlooking the sparkling water, winding down the window to enjoy the breeze and the beautiful view, and reading a book that is resonating with him on every page.

I’ve been listening to my favourite music playlists, and discovering more. My recent discovery is #Tom Francis, a Byron Bay singer/ songwriter who I saw live recently. Not only are his guitar arrangements unique and individual, his voice is like a gentle caress, and his lyrics speak to my soul, and affirm where I’m at. Here’s an example from ‘Tomorrow’s Charms’ :-

“They say that I’ll be happy when I’m in the moment’s arms

But I keep falling for tomorrow’s charms…….

If I keep falling for tomorrow’s charms this way

I won’t know the beauty of living here today ……

I ain’t worried ‘bout the end and I ain’t thinking ‘bout the start

I’m just dancing with these shadows in my heart…..”

P.S. A ‘real-time’ note:- September 10, 2015

A week ago I signed off on all the final details about my book layout, the cover design and the pricing. Yesterday a parcel arrived – it’s my author copy of Good Choice   –  A Soul’s Story. That was so fast!         I don’t think anyone could imagine the enormity of what I felt as I actually held my book in my hands for the first time. It’s overwhelmingly HUGE and beyond words. I’m uncharacteristically speechless, unless you count crying and blubbering as speech.

By next week’s post, I should be ready to announce the details of how you can actually buy my book. I’m just allowing a few days for it all to sink in, nurturing myself by not flinging it out there before I’m ready but taking it in…  just taking it all in.

Awesome website you have here but I was wanting to know if you
knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same topics talked about here?
I’d really love to be a part of community where I can get comments from
other knowledgeable people that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi “free meditation austin”, and thanks for your encouragement and interest. I’m new to all this blogging and online community and discussions, and haven’t had time to pursue this myself yet, as I’m flat out keeping up with my upcoming book launch. I suspect you may find these outlets before I do! I think #Goodreads would have some user discussion forums about this and any other topic you could imagine. Sorry I can’t be of more help, but if you end up finding any, or any of my readers have suggestions, I’ll pass them on in a future blog post. Kind regards from Barbara.
